In light of new CDC recommendations the Marion County School System will be making the following changes to the Reentry Plan as well as the procedural process within school buildings regarding quarantined individuals. We will conduct more contract tracing via utilization of seating charts within classrooms. This will allow us to reduce quarantines of whole classrooms if your child has not been exposed within the classroom as defined by our policy. The definition of exposure has been changed by the CDC. It is now less than 6 feet away for more than 15 minutes as opposed to 10 minutes. As we continue to encourage students and faculty to maintain social distancing throughout the days ahead I will continue to keep you briefed on recommended changes.
